The farm is also the home of a small egg laying operation. The flock is raised in mobile coops moved around the farm and grazed on sections of cover crops. The chickens provide some fertility and insect control while having access to abundant sunshine, fresh air and a balanced diet providing more Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E in the eggs they produce. They are raised without hormones and antibiotics and their diet is supplemented with certified organic layer feed.
